South Coast Health Equity Coalition (SCHEC)

The South Coast Health Equity Coalition (SCHEC) is a community-rooted, BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+-led coalition committed to advancing racial justice, health equity, and collective liberation across Oregon’s South Coast.

We unapologetically stand for the dignity, rights, and leadership of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), rural communities, and those most impacted by systemic oppression. Our work is driven by the wisdom, resilience, and lived experiences of our community members, because we believe solutions must come from those closest to the challenges.

Through intentional collaboration, relationship building, and transformative advocacy, we create space for healing, joy, and resistance. From youth leadership development to gender-affirming care, mutual aid, and coalition-building, our efforts are designed to challenge injustice while nurturing the power already present in our communities.
